Kaiser - aka Ceaser - Try Jesus!

Recently I had no other choice then to subscribe to Kaiser Permanente for my medical care. Being a brittle diabetic amongst other things, I had to be grateful for any insurance I could obtain. It is a neccesity in order for me to be able to fill and get the test strips and insulin needed.

However, everytime I walk into Kaiser for a doctor's appointment it seems as though they find a different problem to treat and they seem to want to continually medicate me. Most of the time I refuse and let them know that I cannot handle all of these medications. Of course, they do not appreciate my input and consider me a difficult patient. They were upset with me when I told them I can't do certain things like take pain medication and that it made me extremely ill.

Recently I found out that Kaiser also meant Ceaser. My reaction was Ceaser? Salute Ceaser? No, not today. I refuse to salute Ceaser, but would much rather salute God himself. You see, I know that the Lord is not done with me yet. I am honestly a medical miracle. Doctor's have been telling my mom and me since the day I was born that I would never make it out of the hospital. I was born unto a practicing alcoholic as a premie by about two months. Later, at age eight, and after being undiagnosed for close to a year, I was in the hospital ICU, and a diabetic coma, with a blood glucose of over one thousand!! That is pretty much unheard of. Later in life I made a bad choice to follow my mom's footsteps, and I too went down the road of alcoholism. Praise God that I am clean and sober today. On November 11, 1999 I decided it was time to live for God instead of me. It is not always easy, but the consequences are much better and so is this life. There were many times that I should have died yet the Lord held on to me. Many times when I am in chronic pain or fighting with low blood sugars and close to diabetic shock, I find myself in prayer and trying to take the next right step. While trusting in the Lord, I always seem to come out doing good at the other side.

I am not a prolific writer, but what I mainly would like to share is that for anyone feeling down and out, beaten up or whatever may be, try Jesus! He has done miracles in my life, and I know He can do the same for you. I truly believe today, when you call on Jesus all things are possibe.

Hi Michelle, what a beautiful testament to the grace of God. You rightly said, we make our choices, but God always woos us and when we respond, miracles happen. He obviously had a plan for you that you should survive being born prematurely. Sometimes the consequences of choice trickle down to the innocent, which is a good example of why God hates sin. He hates to see what it does to people. But then, He takes that and he makes something beautiful, your life is a testimony of grace. Thank you so much for sharing it and I pray it will encourage others to give Jesus a chance. He never dissapoints and it doesn't take "prolific" writing to share the gospel. Welcome to SW! Thank you for joining my fan club. May we encourage eachother to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God isn't through with me yet, and I don't really care what the doctors think. Excuse me if I sound curt, I have my own experiences however and they aren't from a textbook. Thank you Sue. :-)
