Children And Grandchildren - Gifts From God

Three sons and now my third grandson! I am so blessed and thought I would never see the day of grandchildren. Oh, how many times "they" told me I was going to die! Had I listened to what many doctors had said I would be six feet under now. Praise God that He had other plans and has given me a spirit to fight for my life. Not to mention the fact that yes, I am quite the joker and at times love to banter.
As I reflect back to being a mom raising three boys and now a grandma of three boys I smile at the differences there are in wearing the two hats.
As grandma
I can send the boys home if they get too cranky. I couldn't send my boys home when they got cranky. Thank God my mom helped more than she had to.
I can give the grandchildren more one on one time as they usually aren't here at the same time.
I use the batteries in the digital camera very quickly. When my children were growing up, it was off to the drugstore to get the pictures developed or to Olan Mills. Downloading, and doing your own pictures wasn't an option. By the way mom, check out Snapfish as there are more pictures for you to see.
Sandra Graham has a great article about "You Know You're Getting Older When" which really got me to thinking how wonderful it is to grow older. I now can't wait to take my own grandchildren to the theater. I can do without the elevated costs though.
Just in case you missed the point of this article, I am a blessed and proud new grandma again. Hats off to all grandmas!
