You Were There (A Poem For My Mother)

I want to thank you

For the Mom you've been to me
I know I scared you Countless times so terribly How many times You must have wondered If I was going to die But you were there When others didn't care   I hear you sobbing For a child born premature I feel your heart throbbing To help me be secure But when…  the doctors told you That I would likely die Oh my, oh my did you cry But you were there When others didn't care   And when I turned eight You must have been so glad Until the doctors told you I was in a diabetic coma I hear you cry and wonder why God was doing this to you You must have been… so very sad And you were there When others didn't care   And when I grew up To became a mother on my own You were so proud When I took my baby twins home But when I was drinking… and drugging Oh how your heart must have bled Wondering when you'd hear that I was dead Still you were there When others didn't care     So, thank you Mom For waiting patiently Through sleepless nights To see what God would do with me And now I'm happy to say I love you more each day And you're always here In my heart to stay

Wow what a wonderful poem. I am so happy that you care enough for your mother to write something like this.

Thanks Jeff,

Each day I love her more and more. It can be hard at times to be this transparent, but I find that it is right and she was the one who was and has always been there.

Love you

I love you Mom

No need to thank me when it was you who suffered for me and had been there through thick and thin.

Lots and lots of love,
Michelle

Thank you Sandra,

That means a lot to me and yes, my mom is a best friend. It was hard to be that transparent, but honest.

God bless
